Privacy Policy

The PermitLingo website ("we") is operated by PermitLingo. This policy explains what data we process when you use the site.

In short

• No sign-up; we don't ask for your name, phone or email.
• We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
• Your test progress is stored in your browser.

What we process

• Test results. When you finish a test we store the state, test type, mode, language, number of correct answers and a random anonymous device ID. We use this to improve the questions. It cannot identify you.
• Mistake reports. If you report a mistake in a question, we store the question number, your text, the page address and a one-way hash of your IP address (to prevent spam). We do not store the IP address itself.
• Data in your browser. Answers to the current test, your chosen language and the anonymous ID are kept in your browser's localStorage. You can remove them by clearing this site's data.
• Technical logs. Our hosting provider may briefly log IP addresses, browser type and request time for security and operation.
• Emails. If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply.

Legal basis and retention

We process data on the basis of legitimate interest (running, securing and improving a study site) or your consent where required. We keep test results in aggregated form for up to 24 months and mistake reports until reviewed, for no more than 12 months.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, the UK or California), you can ask to access, correct or delete your data and object to its processing. Because we don't know who you are, include the anonymous ID from your browser or describe the report you sent. Write to the contact address on our Contact page. We do not sell personal information or "share" it as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

Children

The site is for people preparing for exams, including teens from age 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We update this policy when the way the site works changes. The date of the last change is shown below.
