Reserved Parking (Accessible)
This space is reserved for vehicles that display a disabled-parking permit or special license plate. Other drivers may not use it.
- Shape
- Vertical rectangle
- Color
- White background with a blue wheelchair symbol and green letters and border
What to do
Park in the space only if your vehicle displays a valid permit or plate and the person it was issued to is riding in it or being picked up. Never park in the striped access aisle next to the space. Fines for misuse can be hundreds of dollars.
Where you see it
In parking lots and on streets, close to building entrances, with a sign at the head of the space and a symbol painted on the pavement.
Test trap
Many drivers think a quick stop is fine. It is not: you may not park there even briefly without a permit. The striped aisle beside the space is also off limits, even to a driver with a permit.
Memory tip: Blue wheelchair = permit only, and never block the aisle.
Practice question
