Regulatory sign · MUTCD R7-1
No Parking Any Time
You may not park here at any hour of any day. Stopping to load or unload is only allowed if other signs or local rules permit it.
- Shape
- Vertical rectangle
- Color
- White background, red letters and red border
What to do
Do not leave your vehicle parked in this zone, even for a short time or with the driver inside. Read any added plates, such as arrows showing where the restriction starts and ends. If you are unsure, park somewhere else.
Where you see it
On the curb side of streets, near fire hydrants, driveways, bus stops and other places where parked cars would block traffic.
Test trap
Do not confuse it with signs that show hours or time limits: 'Any Time' means no exceptions on any day. Staying in the car does not make it legal; that is standing, not parking, and some signs ban that too.
Memory tip: Red on white and 'ANY TIME' = never park here.
Practice question
This sign means:
- Parking allowed for one hour only
- No parking at any time of day
- No parking during posted hours only
- Parking allowed after 6 p.m. only
Answer: B. The red 'NO PARKING ANY TIME' sign bans parking every hour of every day.
